Terms of Service
Make sure to read the following information carefully, as they outline what you can use commissioned art for and what I am allowed to use the work for after it is completed. By commissioning me, you agree to the following:
General Rules & Information
I may not take on every commission request I receive.
I usually go into commissions offering a limited number of "slots" (basically single purchases) for people to snag; usually 2-3 so I can finish them in a reasonable amount of time. That means that often times I can't accept everyone's orders. This is absolutely not personal in any way; I often choose orders based on what I feel is best at the time, and what seems interesting to draw!
I use discord and/or email for communications with clients.
Be sure you've got one that you can access to check your messages at least once a week! My "business hours" are between 10 AM and 7 PM EST; if I receive messages within this window I will do my best to respond day-of, however if a message is received outside of those hours you may need to wait for a response until later in the day/the next day. You may still send me messages outside of those hours (especially if you're in a different time zone!) but it just might take a few hours to get a reply from me.
I can take anywhere between a day and upwards of a month to finish your order.
It depends on how many other orders I'm working on, and how complex yours is. I will give you an estimate of how long it'll take to complete after you've ordered your commission, and provide thumbnails to choose from and updates as I complete major steps in my art process. I will, however, always send weekly updates over email (or on discord if that's preferred) to let you know where I am progress-wise! I can be slow when it comes to art at times, but I'll always communicate with you to make sure you're not left in the dark.
I welcome feedback on work. I don't misinterpret character designs or image concepts purposefully, so if you want something to be altered do let me know. Feel free to redline corrections or provide scribbly thumbnails of your own! This is extremely helpful if you want something very specific or if I'm just not getting what you're asking for, absolutely do not be afraid to do these.
Have something very specific in mind? Feel free to provide ideas, sketches of your own, snippets of writing for me to pull from, descriptions of characters, etc for me to work from! If there's some edit that's very specific you want and you don't mind redlining it, that's also absolutely cool with me.
Prices are non-negotiable. I price my work according to the amount of time I put into it, and thus am usually not interested in giving discounts; I understand that not everyone can afford to pay that much for art, and appreciate your interest nonetheless! People who support me on Patreon get a a 5-10% discount on commissions and designs, though. The only other exception is if you're buying a lot from me - I'd definitely be willing to talk about a discount in that case!
Send payment after you have received order confirmation from me. I currently take USD payments through PayPal. When sending money, be sure to say 'For Goods and Services' and 'No Address Required'. If you mess up, don't worry; I'll send your money back and you can try again.
I won't start on your commission until I receive payment. This is relatively self-explanatory, but if you're curious; I've had some bad experiences with not receiving payment in the past, and don't want repeats of those situations.

Commission Uses
I may display the finished art on my online art gallery, DeviantArt, Patreon, and anywhere else I decide to host my work. I may use your commission as an example on this website. However, I will not:
You can use the work you've ordered for the following:
You cannot use it for:
- Use the commissioned work for personal gain. I will not create prints or other merchandise featuring the art, nor will I include the work in any artbooks that I publish in the future.
- Claim to own any of your characters/elements featured within. Outside of this personal website, I will provide a link to your social media and a disclaimer that properly credits the characters to you.
You can use the work you've ordered for the following:
- Decorating personal spaces/online pages. You may re-upload the art I make you to your own gallery, use it for banners on websites, icons on your social media, upload it to places like toyhou.se or refsheet, or as reference material for one of your characters. I'd like to have some form of credit, though! Either a link back to my page near the image, or inclusion on a credits section if it's on a website or being used in a place that really just isn't suited to scrawling my name underneath it. But there does need to be some form of credit.
- Reference for what your characters look like. Even if you didn't buy a reference sheet, this is fine! If this is your intention and you're buying something with shading, remember to ask for an unshaded version - it makes for easier reference material for colours that way!
- Printing for personal display. If you'd like to print the art you've purchased and hang it on your wall - that's super cool!! Just let me know and I'll make a version that's all set up to print for you (either on redbubble at a private link, or by sending you print-ready files). I can do this for "Pixel Art" commissions if you really want it, but be warned that due to them being extremely small, the prints will be as well.
- Bases and other commissioned resources can be made available to whoever you'd like. So if you buy a base of, say, a griffon for a roleplay you are running, it's perfectly fine to let the other members of that group use it (and to display it on whatever website you're hosting it on).
You cannot use it for:
- Commercial gain. That means that you cannot use the art I make you to sell prints or stickers. You can use it as an advertisement, if you wish, however; so long as no one is purchasing copies of the art itself. There are a few exceptions to this rule:
- If you order a character design or reference sheet, the character belongs to you and you may sell them if you wish, for however much you wish.
- Likewise, if you draw art of a character I've designed for you and sell prints of that art, that's 100% okay! As long as you're not taking the art I did for you and sticking it on a mug, that's fine.
- You can use my art as a book cover/interior illustrations, but please let me know if this is what you intend! They have to be sized properly to work in that context, and I can't do that if I don't know.
- If you're using my art as a background or item or import art for an ARPG, this is fine. (But let me know so I can get it to be the right size).
- Want to do something with commissioned work that would break this rule? Tell me what you have in mind and I'm sure we can work something out.
- NFTs or anything blockchain-related. I don't want anything to do with these; please seek out another artist if this is what you want from me.
- If you have any questions not covered by this, or wish to come to a different agreement regarding the use of commissions, please email me at [email protected]. I no longer use DeviantArt for communication/arranging commissions, so please do not message me there! I will likely not see it if you do.
I will draw:Dragons, griffons, other fantasy creatures I will draw human characters now, but please be aware that I'm still getting used to drawing them, so those kinds of commissions may take longer! Any animals (canines, felines, birds, horses, fish) Flowers 'Mecha' or other mechanical-type characters or settings Nature or city scenes (though detailed city backgrounds may cost extra) Cars (not as the focus of the image, but maybe in the background of an illustration?) |
I will not draw:Hateful art; no homophobic, racist, or otherwise distasteful content. NSFW. I don't mind drawing art with romantic themes, like kissing or cuddling, but nothing of an overtly sexual nature. Extreme gore. I'm fine with drawing bloody fight scenes, but please don't ask for anything over-the-top or gross. Any NFTs or anything blockchain-related. I don't want anything to do with these; please seek out another artist if this is what you want from me. Do not ask me to copy/take heavy inspiration from the artwork/designs of other artists. |
